Performance Revisit - The Street Small Caps 31 August 2018

Remember that list of small cap ideas TheStreet published as good long ideas back in August?

Well here's an update...

LGIH -- This was the 1 name that looked like it had a real chance given it was bouncing out of the top of TMZ... Ah, but no.  Incidentally, TMZ is now resistance.

BZH -- This stock had gotten slammed about 6 weeks prior to its publication as a small cap idea by TheStreet.  It was teetering along the bottom of TMZ and after a 1 week Shooting Star style candle, it fell apart.

PBH -- This stock never had a chance... It was below TMZ in August and that never changed...

GPOR -- Price has been held in check to the downside by the down trend line for quite some time.

COG -- This stock also held below TMZ after being turned back in early 2018.

Remember, like "Ball Don't Lie," "Chart Don't Lie..."

SNAP Update 21 December 2018

In mid November I posted that a short seller was suggesting a purchase of SNAP because it had dropped so much.

I said that the structure suggested price was likely to go lower.

I was right.

The #BearFlag is proving out.

I wouldn't be interested in shorting the stock here as Bear Market rallies tend to be violent... and often extended.

But I wouldn't want to be long unless price does a lot of work and changes direction.

Bitcoin 21 December 2018

A core principle of #SimpleTrading is Resistance eclipsed becomes Support and Support broken becomes Resistance.

Bitcoin is adhering to this rule.

As expected, price bounced off support.

The question now is how far will the bounce extend?  Beyond the red horizontal line above the current price (which is now resistance)?

Or will price roll over again and finally break down through support?

GLD Update 18 December 2018

Stocks are still under pressure... But #GLD is not showing the normal bullishness you'd expect when stocks are moving lower even though it's managed to move up out of long term TAOST Magnet Zone.

I wouldn't consider buying GLD unless price can push up through the horizontal resistance levels above.

How To Get Short 17 December 2018

For those concerned about a potential market collapse...

I've written about this leveraged, "contra" etf before. It basically goes higher as the market (S&P 500) goes lower... Triple the decline in fact.

There's still time to work into a position.

Treat it like any other position... Limit your position size and make sure you have a stop loss in place.

Seems it was more accurate than even I imagined.

As it challenges major support here, many people are waiting for the turn... and have been for some time.

I suspect the security has a lot more work to do before anyone can even begin to think it's turning back to the upside.
